Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision in Maidstone left a woman in her 70s critically injured.
The incident occurred at around 8.20am on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, when a white Fiat Ducato van was seen reversing along Market Buildings toward the High Street. During the manoeuvre, the van struck a pedestrian, who was later rushed to a London hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading the enquiry and has issued a public appeal for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage.
“We urge anyone who saw the incident or has relevant footage to get in touch,” a police spokesperson said.
