A12 Southbound Closed in Essex After Two-Car Collision – Major Delays Expected

A serious collision involving two vehicles has led to the closure of the A12 southbound between Junction 16 (Galleywood Interchange) and Junction 15 (Webb’s Farm Interchange) this morning in Essex.

The incident occurred during peak hours, prompting a swift response from Essex Police, the East of England Ambulance Service, and Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, who remain at the scene.

Diversion Route in Place

Motorists are advised to exit the A12 at Junction 19 (Boreham) and follow this signed diversion:

Drivers are urged to follow the diversion signage on road, even though no official diversion symbol is in place.

National Highways is warning drivers to expect long delays, and is encouraging those with flexible schedules to delay or re-route their journey if possible.

“We’re working closely with emergency services to manage the scene and will reopen the road as soon as it’s safe to do so,” said a spokesperson.
