Finsbury Park: Person Hit by Train on Victoria Line Triggers Emergency Response
Emergency services rushed to Finsbury Park Underground Station in the early hours of Friday morning (18 July) following reports that a person had become trapped beneath a northbound Victoria Line train.
The incident happened around 12.40am with emergency teams deployed to the station at Station Place in North London.
Emergency Response Launched
Multiple emergency service were mobilised shortly after midnight. Specialist responders from London Underground British Transport Police, and London Ambulance Service attended the scene. along with the London Air Ambulance Doctors
The condition of the individual involved has not been officially confirmed. It is unclear whether the person was struck intentionally, accidentally, or under other circumstances.
Victoria Line Services Affected
Although Transport for London (TfL) has yet to issue a formal statement, it is understood that Victoria Line services were disrupted overnight as emergency crews worked at the scene.
Disruption likely affected the northbound service, with delays and temporary station closures expected in the early hours of Friday morning.
Investigation Underway
The British Transport Police (BTP) is expected to lead on the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. CCTV footage and witness statements are being reviewed.
