Police Launch Murder Investigation After Quad Fatal Stabbing on Long Lane in South East London
Overview
A murder investigation has been launched following a fatal stabbing on Long Lane in SE1, where one person has died and three others have been rushed to major trauma centres.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 1.04pm on Monday afternoon, after multiple reports of a knife attack near the heart of Bermondsey.

The area was quickly cordoned off as a large-scale emergency response was deployed.

London Ambulance Service Confirms One Dead, Three Hospitalised
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service confirmed the scale of the incident:
“We were called at 1.04pm today (28 July) to reports of a stabbing on Long Lane, SE1.
We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, advanced paramedics, incident response officers, a command support vehicle, and paramedics from our tactical response unit.
We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.
We treated four people at the scene. We took three patients to major trauma centres as a priority. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Murder Investigation Underway
Metropolitan Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and have sealed off a section of Long Lane near Abbey Street. Forensic officers have been seen examining the scene, and inquiries are ongoing to establish a motive and identify those involved.
No arrests have been confirmed at this time.
