Firefighters raced to a one-storey laundry facility on Dukes Road, Park Royal, at 3.15am today (October 7) after plumes of thick smoke filled the air.
60 Firefighters Battle Fierce Flames Through the Night
Sixty brave firefighters tackled the intense fire at the industrial unit, which was spewing a “significant amount of smoke”. The blaze raged for over two hours before being brought under control around 5.30am.
No Injuries but Major Traffic Chaos
Thankfully, no one was hurt during the fire. However, the fire close to the westbound A40 Western Avenue caused heavy traffic delays. Dukes Road remains closed as crews continue their work.
Investigation Underway as Firefighters Work to Extinguish Flames
Firefighters are expected to stay onsite through the morning to fully extinguish the flames and damp down the area. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
