Drivers heading into Cornwall face serious delays after a double-decker bus went up in flames early Tuesday on the A30.
Firefighters Race to Massive Bus Blaze
The A30 westbound is still closed between Kennards House (A395) and Bodmin (A389) after emergency services were called just after 6am on Tuesday 7th October 2025.
Launceston Community Fire Station revealed that crews from Launceston, Bodmin, and a full-time officer tackled the large vehicle fire.
“On arrival, crews were met with a double-decker bus well alight,” the station said. “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used high-pressure jets and thermal imaging cameras to bring the fire under control before handing over to police and highways teams.”
No Injuries but Recovery Could Take Hours
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
A complicated recovery operation is underway, with experts set to inspect the road surface for damage once the wreckage is cleared.
Long Delays and Diversions in Place
Motorists heading west towards Cornwall should expect lengthy hold-ups. Diversions are currently running, and drivers are urged to allow plenty of extra time for their journeys.
