Ryanair Flight Hits Danger with Just 220kg of Fuel Left – UKNIP

A Ryanair plane narrowly escaped disaster after landing with a dangerously low fuel reserve of only 220kg – enough for just five or six minutes of flying. The harrowing incident happened on October 3, right in the middle of Storm Amy, which whipped Britain with winds up to 100mph and caused chaos across the country.

Storm Amy Forces Multiple Landing Attempts

The flight struggled against the fierce weather, aborting its landing approach three times before finally touching down safely in Manchester. Despite the close call, no injuries were reported.

Major Investigation Underway

Ryanair promptly reported the incident to authorities on the same day. A company spokesman said: “As this is now subject of an ongoing investigation, which we are cooperating fully with, we are unable to comment.”

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched a full review to uncover what led to the aircraft running so low on fuel amidst the brutal storm conditions.
