A contactless bus ticket payment busted a teen robber in Sutton-in-Ashfield. Jaylen Foster, 18, made off with two bracelets after threatening a group of youngsters with a Rambo-style knife.
Knife-Wielding Thug Targets Teens at Bus Station
On 30 January 2025, Foster approached three young people at Sutton-in-Ashfield bus station. He snatched a newly bought bracelet from one before returning to demand another from a different victim. Showing the handle of a Rambo-style knife, he forced the second victim to hand over their bracelet.

CCTV and Contactless Ticket Crack the Case
Foster tried to make his escape on a bus around 7.40pm. But sharp-eyed detectives pieced together CCTV footage and the timing of his contactless ticket purchase to catch him red-handed. They recovered the stolen bracelets and returned them to their owners.
Jail for Prolific Offender
Foster, from Unwin Street, Huthwaite, pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to robbery, theft, knife possession, cannabis possession, and multiple Bail Act breaches.
He landed a hefty sentence of two years and eight months in a young offender institution. His latest punishment also covers a raft of crimes committed during summer 2024.
