Users Left Scrambling as Networks Crash
One frustrated user bemoaned, “Every single Wi-Fi, including Vodafone & BT has GONE DOWN!!!!!!”
Another added: “Yep, everything is down, can’t even make calls. I’m relying on a local shop’s WiFi.”
It’s not just BT – Vodafone is feeling the pinch too. Over 134,000 Vodafone customers reported landline and broadband failures, causing chaos across the country.
BT Outage Confirmed Since Early Hours
Reports of BT trouble started flooding in as early as 1:28 AM BST, according to Downdetector UK. The platform tracked the spike in user complaints as the outage worsened throughout the day.
What is Downdetector?
Downdetector is the go-to website for tracking service outages across the UK. It collects live user reports on everything from social media to banking and broadband providers.
The site only flags an incident when reports soar above normal levels. It monitors disruptions in real time and maps out outage hotspots, letting users check if their area’s affected.
In their own words: Downdetector is “where people go when services don’t work.”
