A single mum-of-three on benefits has sparked outrage after asking strangers to fund her luxury holidays abroad – without the kids.
‘Benefits Influencer’ Emily Cutter Seeks Cash for Sun-Soaked Breaks
Emily Cutter, 37, from Taunton, who claims Universal Credit and proudly calls herself a “benefits influencer,” has launched a GoFundMe to bankroll child-free trips to hotspots like Turkey, the Canary Islands, and Spain.
Emily, mum to Jack, 18, Cee Cee, 14, and Lilly, 7, says the pressures of motherhood, fame, and life on benefits have become too much. She insists she “needs a break” from it all.
Famous For All the Wrong Reasons
In her plea, Cutter admits sudden social media fame has been overwhelming. “Being a viral sensation isn’t as glamorous as people think, especially when you’re still juggling kids, overnight fame, and Universal Credit,” she wrote.
“Between the hate, the headlines, suddenly being noticed in the street and being so iconic, it has been a lot. I need time to adjust to this new fame and the autograph requests in the middle aisle of Aldi.”
She hopes to escape for a “cheeky week in Tenerife” to “switch off, breathe, and finally relax.”
‘People on Benefits Deserve Joy Too’ – But Public Isn’t Buying It
Emily’s crowdfunder pitch asks for donations big and small: “£5 towards a cocktail (well needed), £10 towards sunscreen (obviously we don’t want my kids to burn) or £20 towards a night of no photos please (such a big deal).”
She added, “Thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this crazy journey. Let’s prove that happiness isn’t reserved for the rich. ❤️ Donate £5 to wind up a Karen today.”
The campaign has left many scratching their heads over why taxpayers should fund holidays for someone already on benefits – sparking a fiery debate online.
