Three Cut from Vehicle after M40 Crash

Three people have been rescued from a car which came off the M40 in Oxfordshire and crashed down an embankment. The accident happened at around 6.10am Saturday on the northbound carriageway near Junction 9 at Wendlebury. Fire appliances from Slade, Wheatley and Thame attended the incident along with a specialist rescue vehicle from Kidlington. Crews used specialist cutting equipment to access the occupants whilst colleagues from South Central Ambulance Service assessed the severity of their injuries. Crews then assisted in extricating the occupants before they were taken to hospital via ambulance. The severity of the impact and the location of the vehicle meant accessing the occupants was very tricky, all of the first responders worked seamlessly to ensure the vehicle’s occupants were released from the vehicle and given the best medical care possible as swiftly as possible.”
