Teen Stabbed in Camden, Attacker Gets Six Years
Detectives launched a probe after a 17-year-old was stabbed in Billy Fury Way, off Lithos Road NW3, on 6 November 2018. The victim spent two weeks in hospital as an inpatient before being discharged.
Quick Arrest and Guilty Verdict
Just two days later, on 8 November, police arrested 17-year-old Terail McDonald. He was charged the very next day. McDonald stood trial at Blackfriars Crown Court 1, where on 7 May he was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
Hard Hit: Six Years Inside
On 11 June, McDonald was sentenced to six years for GBH. An 18-month sentence for knife possession runs concurrently. Reporting restrictions were lifted, allowing police to name McDonald despite his young age.
Police Warn Over Knife Crime
Detective Constable Chris Shepherd of Central North Command Unit said: “The stabbing appears to have been the result of an argument between friends, which escalated needlessly and violently to leave the victim suffering critical injuries.”
“This case serves as a reminder of the danger of carrying a knife.”
“The victim did not support the ongoing police investigation, however the determination of investigating officers ensured that McDonald received the custodial sentence that this violent knife crime warranted.”
