Two Charged in Canterbury Burglary Spree

Burglary Charges Hit Hersden Men

Two men from Hersden have been charged following a string of burglaries across the Canterbury area. Paul Ellis, 46, faces six counts of burglary linked to incidents between June and August 2020.

Crime Spanning Five Towns

The alleged thefts took place in Wingham, Preston, Canterbury, Faversham, and Sturry. Stolen items reportedly include cash, jewellery, and ornaments.

Additional Charges for Ellis

Ellis is also accused of multiple motoring offences in Canterbury on August 18: driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and using a mobile phone while driving. He faces a further charge of assaulting an emergency worker that same day.

Bushell Faces Three Burglary Counts

Dean Bushell, 34, is charged with three burglaries connected to break-ins in Wingham and Preston on August 6.

Next Court Appearance Set

Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on August 20. Ellis was remanded in custody and will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on September 21.
