Fugitive Threat Suspect Nabbed in Spain
Daniel Parkes, 43, a former Belfast man, has been arrested in Malaga, Spain, after years on the run. The arrest came on Wednesday 16 September 2020, following a European Arrest Warrant issued by Kent Police.
Threats Made in 2013
Parkes was wanted for making threatening phone calls to two individuals in Folkestone back in 2013. He was charged but skipped court in July 2015, vanishing before his day in court at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court.
Extradited and Back Behind Bars
On Friday 9 October 2020, Parkes was extradited from Spain to the UK. The very next day, he faced Folkestone Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody. His next hearing is set for Monday 9 November 2020 at Canterbury Crown Court.
