Prisoner Drenches Guard with Filth in Revolting “Potting” Attack
Jacob O’Dell, 24, wasn’t content serving his three-and-a-half-year jail sentence at HMP Peterborough. In December last year, he launched a vile assault on a prison guard using a bucket filled with a disgusting mix of urine and faeces.
Filthy Attack Leaves Guard Covered Despite Shielding
Armed with the revolting bucket, O’Dell hurled its foul contents at the staff member, leaving her covered in faeces despite her desperate attempts to protect herself. This horrific incident, known in prison slang as “potting”, shocked everyone involved.
Inmate Blames Pressure, Gets Extra Jail Time
When questioned, O’Dell claimed he was pressured by another inmate to carry out the sickening attack. He later pleaded guilty to administering a noxious substance with intent to injure and was slapped with an extra 18 months behind bars on Monday (2 November) at Cambridge Crown Court.
Police Condemn Attack on Hardworking Prison Staff
DC Zoe Slater of Cambridgeshire Constabulary slammed the assault, saying: “This was a disgusting, unprovoked attack that nobody should have to endure.”
“Prison staff work hard to ensure the safety of inmates and should be able to do so without fear of being attacked.”
