Police and Prosecutors Praise Victims’ Bravery
“We welcome the sentence handed down today,” said the investigating officer. “I would like to thank the victims for their courage in coming forward. We hope this sentence brings them closure as they move on with their lives. The conviction is a testament to the team’s efforts and sends a clear message: offenders will be caught and brought to justice.”
Senior Crown Prosecutor Stella Waata added, “Sexual assaults are challenging and complex to prosecute. Thanks to the thorough investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police, and the brave testimony of three women, the CPS built a strong case that led to guilty pleas and today’s sentence.”
