County Lines Boss Banged Up for Over Five Years

Nowa Oronsaye, 39, from Beacon Hill, London, has been slammed with a hefty prison sentence of five years and seven months at Southwark Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

Crackdown Following Joint Police Sting

Oronsaye was nabbed in Islington on 22 November 2020 after a joint operation by Cambridgeshire Constabulary and the Metropolitan Police Service. Dubbed Operation Orochi, the sting zeroed in on phone data to bust the masterminds behind County Lines drug trafficking from London to Cambridge.

The investigation pinned Oronsaye as the controller of the notorious ‘Dan’ line between 30 September and 6 November 2020.

Damning Evidence at Arrest

  • Oronsaye caught with a County Lines mobile phone
  • Police raided his home, finding multiple phones
  • Recovered 60 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin

He was connected to accomplices Iretomiwa Olaojo and Glen Daniels, who received their sentences in December for the same supply offences.

Police Celebrate Major Win Against Drug Gangs

“A combined ten years in prison connected to one drugs line is a great result and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to target those controlling County Lines in Cambridgeshire,” said Detective Chief Inspector Chris O’Brien.

“We will continue to work with the Met Police, as part of Op Orochi, to identify line holders and protect vulnerable young people and adults from exploitation linked to this drug trade.”

Acting Detective Inspector Nick Harvey added: “This case shows the Met and county forces working hand in hand to take down County Lines operators like Oronsaye. We’ve flipped this crime on its head – what used to be low risk, high reward is now a risky business.”

“Another line holder behind bars proves our dedication, but we need the public’s help to keep communities safe.”
