Three Men Busted in County Lines Drug and Human Trafficking Raid
Officers from Hertfordshire’s Operation Mantis, backed by Operation Scorpion and Safer Neighbourhood Teams, stormed three addresses on Wednesday, 27 October. They arrested three men who now face serious charges.
Charged with Class A Supply and Exploiting Teen
The trio were hit with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. In a shocking twist, they were also charged with human trafficking for exploiting a 15-year-old boy from Tring. The teenager was forced to sell drugs at their base.
- Dreyon Ford, 20, of Minet Avenue, Brent
- Daniel Bamfo, 18, of Woodstock Gardens, Ilford
- Isahaq Nur, 20, of Vicarage Road, Tottenham
All three men have been remanded in custody. They are due to appear at court on 29 November 2021.
Police Warn of County Lines Threat and ‘Cuckooing’
“We are constantly working to tackle those involved in County Lines gangs and their associated criminality,” said Detective Sergeant Jon Leak, head of Operation Mantis. “These individuals don’t hesitate to use violence and prey on the vulnerable, often recruiting children online via social media to move drugs. They take over the homes of vulnerable people — a practice called ‘cuckooing’ — using them as bases for their illegal operations.”
Hertfordshire might not have a massive County Lines problem yet, but the police warned it’s an escalating national crisis they’re committed to disrupting early.
