Elderly Pedestrian Dies in Horror Collision on A666, Langho

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at 12.45pm today after a Honda Jazz hit an elderly man crossing the A666 at the Whalley Road junction in Langho.

The victim, a man in his 80s, suffered serious injuries and tragically died at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by police.

The driver of the Honda was taken to hospital with minor injuries and shock.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Sgt Helen Parkinson of Lancashire Constabulary’s Tactical Operations said: “This collision has very sadly resulted in an elderly gentleman losing his life and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.”

She urged anyone who saw the crash, has not yet spoken to police, or who holds CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward immediately.
