Tragic Death of Lola James: Murder Charges Unfold

Lola James suffered a “catastrophic” head injury at her Haverfordwest home in July 2020. She died in hospital four days later.

Man and Mother Charged Over Death

Kyle Bevan, 30, from Aberystwyth, has been charged with her murder. He appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Monday.

Lola’s mother, Sinead James, 29, from Neyland, Pembrokeshire, faces charges of causing or allowing her daughter’s death.

Covid-19 Delays Hearing

Ms James did not attend the hearing as she is self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19 at Eastwood Park women’s prison in Gloucestershire.

Last Friday, both Ms James and Mr Bevan appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court after being re-arrested and charged just a day earlier.

Trial Preparations Underway

Judge Thomas QC announced a High Court judge will preside over the trial. A pre-trial hearing is set for 24 June.
