That same night, Jonas rocked up uninvited to her West Sussex home. Ignoring orders to leave, he hurled a set of keys at the victim, cutting her head. He then punched the TV, cracking the screen.

Police arrested Jonas at his Worthing home. He was bailed but banned from contacting the victim—rules he quickly broke.

Broke Bail, Threatened Another Man and Bounced Back to Court

On April 1, Jonas returned to the victim’s address in flagrant breach of bail. He threatened another man there, prompting police to swoop and arrest him again.

Jonas pleaded guilty to assault and harassment.

Justice Served: 26 Months Behind Bars

On May 18, Lewes Crown Court jailed Jonas for 26 months. PC David Jackson from Chichester CID said: “The victim suffered facial injuries in front of her own daughter. Jonas harassed her at work and followed her home. This behaviour was completely unacceptable.”

Jackson added that Jonas got credit for his early guilty plea. Police urge all victims of violence to come forward. “We take victim protection seriously and will act decisively against offenders,” he said.
