Three Arrested in Prison Smuggling Plot

Christopher Harman, 36, from Pentons Close, Holybourne, Liam Currell, 31, with no fixed address, and Stephanie Burt, 30, of Stanley Green Road, Poole, Dorset, have all been arrested and charged. The trio face serious allegations of conspiring to smuggle steroids and mobile phones into prison.

  • Conspiracy to bring steroids (a List A item) into prison
  • Conspiracy to smuggle mobile phones (a List B item) into prison
  • Stephanie Burt also charged with failing to comply with a Section 49 notice under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) for refusing to hand over her phone’s PIN to police

Investigation and Next Steps

The charges stem from a joint probe by Hampshire Constabulary and HMP Winchester. All three suspects have been remanded in custody on conditional bail. They are due to face Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 4.
