Following the discovery of a body in the search for missing Abi Fisher from Castleford, detectives have launched a murder investigation.
Yesterday, the body was discovered in the undergrowth off Southmoor Road near Brierley, South Yorkshire (Sunday, 10 July). The body has not yet been formally identified, but it is believed to be that of Abi Fisher, 29. Her family has been informed and is being assisted by specially trained officers.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested and is being held on suspicion of murder.
Officers are asking anyone with a dashcam in their vehicle who drove on the B6273 Southmoor Road between Hemsworth and Great Houghton between 8.15am and 9.15am on Saturday (9 July) to submit their footage to the police as part of their ongoing investigations.

We are especially interested in hearing from anyone who has dashcam footage from Southmoor Road on Saturday morning, and have set up a dedicated portal for footage submission.”
