Around 1 a.m. yesterday (Monday, July 11), police were called to a report of an assault on Carshalton Road. According to reports, a man was attacked in the street and suffered stab wounds.
Mark Gibson (pictured), 52, of Manchester, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment after emergency services arrived. He tragically died later.
Mr Gibson’s next of kin have been notified, and our hearts go out to them.
A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was stab wounds.
Two men, aged 40 and 42, and two women, aged 38 and 43, all from Blackpool, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Officers have been given more time to question the four people today (Tuesday, July 12).
Detectives are continuing their investigation and are requesting that anyone with information come forward.

The investigation into this incident is still ongoing, and four people have been arrested. We have a dedicated team of detectives working on the investigation to determine what happened.” We would now like to speak with any witnesses or anyone who has CCTV or doorbell footage from around 1am in the area in question. Please come forward if you believe you have footage that could help us.”
