Tragic Night in Moss Side: Javell Morgan Fatally Injured
Just after midnight on Monday, August 15, police rushed to Claremont Road following reports of a serious incident. They found 20-year-old Javell Morgan suffering from severe injuries. Despite emergency efforts, Javell was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Two Men Arrested and Charged with Murder
On Thursday, August 18, two Huddersfield men were arrested in connection with Javell’s murder. Jacob Doughty of Ponyfield Close and Simeon Baptiste of Wellfield Bank were charged on Saturday. Both remain in custody and are set to appear at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court on Monday, August 22.
Police Appeal for Witnesses as Investigation Continues
“Our thoughts are with Javell’s family and friends at this heartbreaking time,” said Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson. “Specialist officers are supporting the family, and we will maintain a strong presence in Moss Side to reassure the community. While we have charged two suspects, the investigation is ongoing. Any information—no matter how small—could bring us closer to justice.”
