15-Year-Old Boy Charged After Teacher Stabbed at Gloucestershire School
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted wounding with intent and possession of a bladed weapon following a shocking stabbing at Tewkesbury Academy in Gloucestershire.
Maths Teacher Stabbed in School Corridor
The terrifying attack happened around 9 am on Monday. Maths teacher Jamie Sansom was stabbed once during the incident. Emergency services rushed to the scene, treating Mr Sansom’s injuries before he was discharged from hospital the same evening. The teacher remains optimistic, hoping to return to school before the summer holidays.
Teenager Held and Set to Appear in Court
The boy, whose identity is protected by law, was charged on Tuesday evening with section 18 attempted wounding and possession of a bladed article on school grounds. He stayed in police custody overnight and will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
School Lockdown and Community Reassured
- Tewkesbury Academy was put into lockdown immediately after the stabbing.
