Teen Stabbed to Death in West Ham Park Horror
Officers rushed to West Ham Park at 5:30pm on Sunday, 9 July, after reports of a stabbing.
They found a teenager with a serious stab wound and administered emergency first aid before paramedics and the London Air Ambulance arrived.
The victim was rushed to an East London hospital but sadly died the next day.
Victim Identified and Suspect Charged
The teen has been provisionally named as 16-year-old Rahaan Ahmed Amin.
A post-mortem on Wednesday, 12 July, revealed the cause of death was a stab wound to the heart.
On Thursday, 13 July, a 16-year-old boy was charged with Rahaan’s murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He is set to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 14 July.
Other Arrests and Police Appeal
- A 16-year-old and a 14-year-old arrested on 10 July on suspicion of murder have been released on bail.
- Two more 16-year-olds arrested at the scene were released with no further action.
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen said:
“We know this incident has caused huge concern locally. We are working around the clock to uncover exactly what happened. We urge anyone with images, footage, or information to come forward.”
