19-Year-Old Charged in Deadly Clapham Hit-and-Run

A teenager has been charged after a fatal collision on Clapham High Street ended a man’s life. Wahab Zahid, 19, from Dagenham, was arrested on July 13. The following day, police charged him with causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.

Zahid is set to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on July 15.

Tragic Late-Night Crash Claims 27-Year-Old Man

The horror unfolded just after 2.40am on July 9 when emergency services rushed to reports of a pedestrian struck by a car in SW9. Despite frantic efforts from London Fire Brigade and ambulance crews, a 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

The Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command is supporting the victim’s family through this tragic loss. Officers are also urging anyone with information to come forward. Call police on 101 and quote reference CAD 1040/09Jul.
