Two Sent Down for Armed Morrisons Petrol Station Robbery
Jordan Farran and Glen O’Donnell have been slapped with four-year jail terms each for a brutal robbery at a Morrisons petrol station in Bredbury back in September 2021. Greater Manchester Police’s Stockport Division cracked the case wide open after a meticulous investigation.
CCTV Footage Captures Armed Heist
The duo struck on 16 September 2021, storming the petrol station brandishing a golf club. They threatened staff, forcing them to hand over cash and around 200 boxes of cigarettes before making a quick getaway under the cover of night.
Digital Evidence and CCTV Seal the Deal
Police traced the getaway car back to Farran. When arrested two days later, his mobile phones were seized and the data inside blew his alibi out of the water. Farran’s phone records placed him at O’Donnell’s house that night, then travelling to Stockport — contradicting his claims of being at home.
Additional CCTV showed two hooded men arriving at the station by car, matching Farran and O’Donnell’s descriptions. Their threatening robbery was caught on camera and backed by witness testimony.
Police Praise Courage of Witnesses and Vows to Tackle Robbery
“We salute the bravery of witnesses who came forward,” said Detective Constable Shakespeare from GMP Serious Crime Division. “Our team’s dedication to analysing data, CCTV, and gathering evidence led to these convictions. We remain committed to bringing violent offenders to justice.”
Farran and O’Donnell appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court on 10 August 2023, where they each received their four-year sentences after earlier pleading guilty.
