53 Kilos of Cocaine Seized on M25 Sting

A silver Ford Ranger was pulled over on the M25 between junctions 10 and 11 in Surrey last Friday (16 December). Inside, officers from the Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) found two hefty bags containing 55 kilos of suspected cocaine.

Driver Arrested and Charged

Michael Buttery, 53, from Kinbrace, Sutherland, Scotland, was arrested on the spot. He was charged with one offence and appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Monday (19 December). Buttery was remanded in custody and is due back at Guildford Crown Court on 19 January.

Police Crack Down on Crime Gangs

Andrew Tickner, OCP operations manager, said: “This was a significant amount of drugs which have been stopped from reaching the streets as a result of this operation. Working with our policing partners we are determined to target and disrupt the organised criminal groups who bring violence and exploitation into our communities.”
