Thieves Target Norfolk Fire Station, Haul Tools Worth £23,000

Between March 6 and 9, Martham Fire Station on Rollesby Road, Norfolk, was broken into. Crooks didn’t just steal gear – they hit a fire engine too, causing damage while nicking vital tools.

Expensive Tools and Damage Stolen From Fire Engine

Among the stolen equipment were bolt cutters, side cutters, and a power saw. The total loss has been estimated at over £23,000. The fire engine suffered damage during the raid.

Police and Fire Service Speak Out

PC Sally Anderson from Great Yarmouth Police warned: “It’s not just the theft; it’s the impact on the station, the local community, and potentially the lives that could have been jeopardised.”

“Luckily, the theft was found during a routine check – not mid-emergency when equipment was desperately needed.”

The Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service added: “We are working closely with Norfolk Constabulary and will tighten security across all sites. These tools are critical for firefighters responding to urgent, life-threatening situations.”
