Paedophile Caught After Sharing Child Abuse Pics Online

Shock Discovery by South Wales Police

South Wales Police’s specialist Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) uncovered sickening images of children on Marc Phillips’ phone. The 43-year-old Aberdare man was exposed after cops acted on tip-offs about illegal uploads from his home.

Sentenced to Nearly Four Years Behind Bars

This month, Merthyr Crown Court slammed Phillips with a 3 years and 9 months jail term. He’s also slapped with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and added to the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Denial Crumbles to Guilty Plea

Phillips initially denied any involvement, but forensic techs found seven indecent images on his device. Worse, he’d shared some with fellow offenders. Faced with the evidence, he later pleaded guilty.

Detectives Warn on Impact and Online Dangers

“Real children suffer the worst abuse creating these images,” said Detective Constable Cheryl Jenkins. “Viewers fuel demand, causing more abuse with lasting damage to victims. Our POLIT team relentlessly hunts down offenders like Phillips who wrongly think their online crimes go unseen.”
