County Lines Drug Dealers Jailed for Over 8 Years in Broxbourne
Two drug dealers who ran a county lines operation from Broxbourne have been locked up for a combined sentence of more than eight years. The pair were behind the ‘Lucky’ line, supplying crack cocaine and heroin from Broxbourne to Swindon throughout 2020.
Operation Mantis Cracks Down on Drug Line
Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operation Mantis team swooped in October 2020. After a thorough investigation, Basky Capitao, 28, from Cheshunt, and Harvey Kimpton, 23, from Harlow, were arrested and charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
- Basky Capitao was sentenced to five years and four months.
- Harvey Kimpton received three years behind bars.
A 34-year-old woman, who acted as the gang’s driver, also pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
Police Warn Against County Lines Exploitation
Detective Sergeant Chris Cowell of Operation Mantis said: “Capitao and Kimpton ran the ‘Lucky’ line, exporting class A drugs into Swindon. Shutting down this line will hit drug supply and crime hard in Broxbourne and Swindon. It sends a clear message: dealers will be caught and jailed.”
“These gangs exploit vulnerable people, often coercing them to provide a base or even act as dealers. Young people are frequently used to move drugs and cash, trapping them deeper in gang violence and abuse.”
This crackdown marks another victory against county lines drug networks fueling violence and misery across the UK.
