Two Drug Dealers Jailed for Over Eight Years in Broxbourne County Lines Bust
Two men running a ruthless county lines drug network in Broxbourne have been locked up for a combined total of more than eight years. The pair were caught after a major police crackdown exposed their operation.
‘Lucky’ Line Supplied Crack and Heroin from Broxbourne to Swindon
Back in October 2020, Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operation Mantis team swooped on the drug ring. They found Basky Capitao, 28, and Harvey Kimpton, 23, were running the ‘Lucky’ line, pushing crack cocaine and heroin from Broxbourne into Swindon.
Both men pleaded guilty at St Albans Crown Court on 1 March 2023:
- Basky Capitao, of Whitefields Road, Cheshunt, was sentenced to five years and four months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
- Harvey Kimpton, of Wharley Hook, Harlow, got three years for the same offence.
A 34-year-old woman involved as a driver also pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
Police Praise Impact of Closing Down County Lines Operation
Detective Sergeant Chris Cowell from Hertfordshire’s Operation Mantis said:
“Capitao and Kimpton ran the ‘Lucky’ line, exporting class A drugs into Swindon. Taking down this line will seriously disrupt drug supply and crime in Broxbourne and Swindon.”
“It sends a strong message to would-be dealers—you will be caught and jailed.”
“Exploiting vulnerable people is a tragic hallmark of organised drug gangs. County lines often force young and vulnerable people to courier drugs or act as distributors, dragging them into violence and abuse.”
