Armed Intruder Targets Family Home in Laburnham Drive
Drama unfolded at a Laburnham Drive residence shortly after 10am on April 6 when an armed man stormed inside and threatened the family. One man was left with a head injury severe enough to need hospital treatment.
Quick-Thinking Occupant Raises Alarm
Thankfully, one family member managed to escape and alert the authorities. The intruder fled the scene before police arrived.
Two Arrested in Police Dragnet
After a thorough investigation, cops grabbed two suspects on Saturday, April 15. Among them is a 31-year-old man from London SW3.
He now faces multiple charges:
- Robbery in a dwelling
- Two counts of false imprisonment
- Possession of imitation firearm during offence (Firearms Act 1968)
- Assault
Case Heads to Crown Court
The accused appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on April 17. No pleas were entered. He is next due in Basildon Crown Court on May 15 to answer the serious allegations.
