Security scare at Stansted Airport grounds plane, three arrested
Emergency call sparks airport lockdown
Police were scrambled after a security alert on a plane at Stansted Airport just after 7.40pm on Wednesday, 19 October. The aircraft was promptly moved to a secure location for safety checks.
Plane searched, no threats found
Officers worked quickly with Stansted officials and conducted a thorough search of the plane. Thankfully, nothing suspicious or dangerous was discovered on board.
Three held, two released, one faces court
Three individuals—a 19-year-old man, a 23-year-old man, and a 20-year-old woman—were arrested amid the security probe.
The two men have since been released with no further action. However, 20-year-old Lucia Johnson from Marrowbrook Lane, Farnborough, has been summonsed to court.
Lucia Johnson to face charges in Colchester
Johnson is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 19 April. She faces two charges of sending offensive, indecent, obscene, or menacing messages.
