Fire and Violence Spark Police Hunt
On Sunday, October 16, 2022, police were called to a flat after smoke was spotted. Jenkins’ partner told officers he had assaulted her during an argument.
Jenkins was quickly put on a wanted list as officers scrambled to arrest him.
Deliberate Fire Endangered Lives and Pets
Investigators found fires had been deliberately started in the oven and on the kitchen floor, causing severe smoke damage throughout the flat.
The victim’s dogs were inside at the time. Items including a TV were smashed on purpose.
Evidence confirmed Jenkins was responsible for setting the fire.
Guilty on All Counts – Sentenced to Four Years
Jenkins was caught the next day and charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, assault by beating, and criminal damage. He denied all charges.
The jury found him guilty on all counts. He has now been sentenced to four years behind bars.
