Bridge Climbers Cause Chaos on M25, Face Jail
Morgan Trowland and Marcus Decker sparked major disruption when they scaled bridge stanchions in the early hours of 17 October last year. The pair climbed to about 200ft above the water, hanging precariously over busy carriageways.
41-Hour Shutdown Hits Commuters and Families
Their stunt forced the M25 and surrounding roads to shut for 41 hours, grinding traffic to a halt. Hundreds of thousands of drivers faced chaos, missing wages, family events, and even urgent medical appointments.
Special Ops Rescue and Court Drama
Specially trained officers, who practised on a nearby fire station’s elevated platform, removed the pair on 18 October. Both men were arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance. They denied the charges but were later found guilty at Southend Crown Court.
Sentenced for Mayhem: Jail Time Delivered
On 21 April, Trowland, 40, from Islington, was sentenced to three years in prison. Decker, 34, with no fixed address, received two years and seven months behind bars.
