County Line Drug Dealers Caged for Heroin and Crack Supply

Two young men were slammed with prison sentences last Friday at Norwich Crown Court for running a county line pushing heroin and crack cocaine.

Five and Three Years Behind Bars

  • Adegoke Dada, 21, from London’s Lancaster Road, was handed five years in the slammer.
  • Leslie Menka, 21, of Finch Mews, London, got three years.

Both men had already admitted guilt for their roles in trafficking Class A drugs between London and Norwich from May to August 2022.

Operation Orochi Nets Drug Network

The county line has now been shut down, thanks to a joint probe by Norfolk Constabulary’s Norwich Neighbourhood Policing and County Lines teams, alongside the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Orochi.

Op Orochi hones in on mobile phone data to hunt down dealers spreading drugs from the capital into smaller counties like Norfolk.

Evidence Seized in London Raids

On 11 August 2022, cops swooped on properties in London, arresting Menka and Dada. They seized multiple phones, over £2,000 in cash, and a train ticket from Norwich to Colchester.

Phone analysis confirmed the pair were using them to orchestrate drug sales and distribution across the two cities.

PC Phil Mercer, Norwich Neighbourhood Policing, said: “Norfolk Police is committed to tackling County Drug Lines and disrupting the networks responsible for bringing harm on our communities. We will continue to target those who seek to profit from the exploitation and vulnerability of others.”
