Lorry Driver Busted with £6.8 Million in Cocaine in Liverpool
A massive £6.8 million cocaine haul has landed a Lithuanian lorry driver behind bars in Liverpool. Edgaras Slusnys, 37, was caught red-handed during a high-stakes sting by the National Crime Agency (NCA).
High-Value Drug Haul Intercepted
On the evening of September 23, NCA officers, working alongside Border Force, stopped Slusnys as he drove a lorry registered to a Northern Ireland-based haulage company. A thorough search revealed the staggering Class A drugs stash hidden inside the vehicle.
Charged and Remanded
Slusnys was quickly charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court on September 25 and has been remanded in custody. His next hearing is scheduled for October 23 at Liverpool Crown Court.
NCA Calls It a Major Blow to Organised Crime
“This seizure has dealt a significant blow to an organised crime gang, and removed a substantial quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets,” said NCA Branch Commander David Cunningham. “The investigation continues to identify and bring to justice all those involved.”
