Nathan Collings Jailed for Stalking and Coercive Behaviour
Nathan Collings, 34, from Abertillery, faced Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday 7 November after previously pleading guilty to a string of shocking offences. These included stalking, three counts of controlling and coercive behaviour, and two charges of threatening to share private sexual photos or films.
Police Officer Dismissed Over Shocking Crimes
Collings was swiftly dismissed from his role at a gross misconduct hearing on 23 October. He did not attend the hearing in person. Following the decision, he will be added to the College of Policing’s barred list, ensuring he can never return to the force.
Deputy Chief Constable Speaks Out
“The offences committed by Nathan Collings are both appalling and shocking. We fully recognise the significant impact that these types of crimes have on victims,” said Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Williams.
“I urge anyone who believes they are a victim of these crimes to come forward, safe in the knowledge they will be taken seriously and treated with compassion and respect.
“Survivors will be believed, and justice has been served with Collings now facing the consequences of his actions.
“This behaviour undermines confidence in police officers – most of whom work tirelessly to keep our communities safe and crime-free. The public expects officers to uphold the highest standards, and it’s reassuring to know Collings will never return to policing.”
Sentenced to Two and a Half Years Behind Bars
Collings was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. His conviction and dismissal send a clear message that abuse of power and criminal behaviour within the police force will not be tolerated.
