Man Dies After Brutal Assault Near King’s Head Pub
A man in his 50s has died after suffering life-threatening injuries in a violent attack on Bridge Street near the King’s Head pub on Friday night (10 November) at around 9.30pm.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before rushing him to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Sadly, he passed away in hospital on Monday, 13 November 2023.
Six Men Arrested Over Assault
Police arrested five men in their 20s on Friday night, suspected of grievous bodily harm (GBH). They were questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and have been released on bail to appear in court on 7 February 2024.
A sixth suspect, a man in his 50s, was arrested on Sunday, 12 November. He too has been bailed and is due to appear at Wymondham PIC on 5 February 2024.
Police Plea for Witnesses
“Enquiries have been carried out at the scene and a number of witnesses spoken to. These enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and the events leading up to it,” said Detective Inspector Sam Pontin from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team.
“We understand this incident will come as a shock to the local community. We urge anyone with information, dash cam, or doorbell footage to come forward. Police presence will be increased in the area while the investigation continues.”
