Man Extradited from Netherlands Charged with Murder in Newham

22-Year-Old Saqib Khan Arrested Over Fatal Stabbing

Saqib Khan, 22, has been charged with the murder of Anselam Senaj in Newham after being extradited from the Netherlands. Born on January 21, 2001, and currently with no fixed address, Khan was detained by Dutch authorities on December 4, 2023, thanks to a joint international police effort.

Khan Faces Murder and Knife Possession Charges

Returned to the UK on January 12, Khan was immediately taken into custody. He now faces serious charges: murder and possession of a knife. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 13.

Fatal Stabbing in East London

The stabbing happened on November 11, 2023. Police rushed to the junction of Victoria Avenue and Grangewood Street, E6, at 10:11 pm after reports of a man being stabbed inside a car. Officers found 26-year-old Anselam Senaj suffering from 123 stab wounds to the chest.

Five Others Arrested in Linked Investigation

Following the stabbing, warrants were served on November 22 across London, resulting in the arrest of five suspects:

  • Khalis Malik, 18, of Pittman Gardens, Ilford
  • Zain Ali, 20, of Poulett Road, East Ham
  • Esahak Yusuf, 19, of Benson Avenue, E6
  • Two 17-year-old boys (names withheld)

All five appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on November 24 and at the Old Bailey on November 28. Their next court date has yet to be confirmed.
