Man Caught Filming Intimate Moment Without Consent
George William Rogers, 26, from Perham Down, has admitted to secretly filming a sexual encounter with his partner and sharing the footage without her consent. The shocking confession happened at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on January 26. Rogers faces charges for sending offensive and obscene content via a public communication network.
Secret Footage Shared with Friends
The incident took place on October 22, 2022. Rogers recorded himself during consensual sex with a woman in her 20s—unbeknownst to her. He then shared the video on a social media platform with a group of friends, completely betraying her trust and privacy.
Police Investigate Privacy Breach
Wiltshire Police launched an investigation as soon as the victim reported the offence. Local crime investigator Dawson slammed Rogers’ actions, calling it “a disgraceful act” and a total breach of trust. He warned of the serious harm such violations inflict on victims.
“This is a disgraceful act which is a complete breach of the trust of the victim, who had no idea the video was being taken,” said Dawson. “The distribution of such footage without consent only deepens the trauma.”
Victim Praised for Courage
The victim’s bravery in coming forward has been praised by police. Dawson hopes this case sends a clear message about respecting privacy and consent. He urged anyone witnessing similar behaviour to realise the serious consequences and harm it causes.
Rogers has been bailed and is due to be sentenced on March 4. This case is a stark warning about the vital importance of respect and consent in relationships—and the heavy penalties for those who break the law.
