Man Charged with Murder After Woman Found Dead in Chelmsford
Essex Police have charged a 47-year-old man with murder following the grim discovery of a woman’s body inside a Chelmsford home.
Incident Unfolds in Readers Court
The drama erupted on Friday, February 9, when officers responded to reports of a suspicious man acting oddly at a property in Readers Court, Chelmsford.
Sebastian Compton, a local resident, was arrested that same day. He now faces murder charges and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 12.
Police Keep Community Calm Amid Ongoing Investigation
Detective Chief Superintendent Rob Kirby, leading the probe, reassured locals there’s no wider danger in the Great Baddow area where the incident happened. But the investigation is still very much active.
“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam, or other footage related to this incident, please get in contact,” said Detective Kirby, referencing incident number 579 from February 9.
