Met Police Officer Suspended Over Shocking Charges
PC Jake Cummings Busted
A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been pulled from duty after being charged with serious offences by Hertfordshire Constabulary. PC Jake Cummings, attached to Central West Command, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 23 February.
Serious Allegations Laid
Cummings faces multiple charges including rape, two counts of stalking, two counts of controlling and coercive behaviour, and possession of an offensive weapon. All alleged incidents involved one victim and reportedly took place while he was off duty.
Custody and Upcoming Trial
The officer has been remanded in custody and is due back in court at St Alban’s Crown Court on Tuesday, 26 March.
Met Police Responds
The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified, with the force declaring that “all allegations of misconduct are taken extremely seriously.” They vow to act swiftly against any officer who breaks professional conduct rules.
