Gun Chaos in Coldharbour Lane: Woman Shot, Three Men Injured
Detectives from Trident, the Met’s elite Specialist Crime Command, are hunting answers after a brutal shootout erupted in Coldharbour Lane, SW9 at 5am on Sunday, 14 January.
Police rushed to reports of a fight and gunfire, discovering a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was swiftly whisked to hospital. Three men turned up at the hospital themselves – one with a gunshot wound, another stabbed, and the third assaulted. Thankfully, all three were discharged.
Two More Men Charged with Attempted Murder
On Monday 26 February, 20-year-old Shane Brown from New Park Road, SW2, faced Croydon Magistrates’ Court. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Brown was remanded in custody, and details of his next court hearing are awaited.
Earlier, on 17 January, 36-year-old Gerald Atkins of Greyhound Terrace, SW16, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court. He faced charges including two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited weapon, and violent disorder.
Then on 20 January, 29-year-old Conrad Bair from Haslemere Avenue, Merton CR4, was charged at Bromley Magistrates’ Court with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and violent disorder.
Suspects Remanded Ahead of November Crown Court Appearance
Both Atkins and Bair have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Kingston Crown Court on 25 November. The investigation into the Coldharbour Lane shooting remains wide open as Met detectives piece together the violent events that rocked the community.
