Ceredigion Man Jailed for Sex Assault in Victim’s Own Bed

A 27-year-old man from Llangrannog, Ceredigion, has been locked up for three and a half years after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in her own bed. The jury at Swansea Crown Court returned a unanimous guilty verdict following a week-long trial.

Swift Police Action Secures Arrest

On October 7, 2023, Dyfed-Powys Police were called after Suroj Bk broke into the victim’s home and attacked her while she was in bed. The brave victim kicked Bk out and immediately alerted the authorities.

Police swiftly arrived, deploying police dogs and forensic officers to comb the area, leading to Bk’s arrest the next day. Detectives and forensic teams worked tirelessly to gather the evidence that nailed Bk to the crime.

Jury Delivers Fast Guilty Verdict

After reviewing the evidence, the jury took less than two hours to pronounce Bk guilty. He was sentenced on May 1, 2024, to three years and six months in prison. He will also face a five-year restraining order and be on the sex offenders register for life.

Police Praise Victim’s Courage and Vow Justice

“The victim demonstrated tremendous courage in reporting the assault,” said Detective Inspector Sam Gregory. “This was an isolated incident, and we acted quickly and efficiently. We take sexual offences very seriously and will work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice.”
