Teen Charged Over Southport Mass Stabbing That Killed Three Kids
A 17-year-old boy from Banks, Lancashire, has been charged with murder and attempted murder following a terrifying stabbing spree at a Southport community centre. The teen, born in Cardiff, Wales, was arrested on Monday after armed police seized a knife at the scene.
The victims were three young girls — six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar. They were attending a “Taylor Swift Yoga and Dance Workshop” for primary school children at The Hart Space community centre when the horror unfolded.
The accused faces three counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder. He is due to appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court this morning.
Violent Protests Erupt Across the UK
Fury over the stabbing sparked violent protests in London and Hartlepool. On Wednesday night, demonstrators clashed with police outside Downing Street, throwing flares and shouting far-right slogans in a chaotic standoff on Whitehall. Riot police in full gear made over 100 arrests for crimes including violent disorder and assault on emergency workers.
Several officers suffered minor injuries during the clashes. Protesters were eventually contained around the Cenotaph war memorial amid efforts to restore order.
Hartlepool Chaos
Meanwhile, in Hartlepool, four were arrested after rioters hurled bottles, eggs, and missiles at police during protests linked to the Southport attack. Several officers sustained minor injuries in the disorder.

The violence follows scenes of disorder in Southport on Tuesday, where 53 police officers were hurt outside a mosque. The turmoil was worsened by false rumours spreading online falsely claiming the suspect was an asylum seeker who arrived by boat.
