Margate Man Among Five Arrested in Peterborough Murder Case

Tragic Scene at Wellington Street Car Park
Officers rushed to a car park on Wellington Street late on Sunday, September 15, where they found Ben Procter unconscious. Despite frantic efforts to save him, he tragically died in the early hours of the next day.
Key Suspect Already Charged
Earlier this week, 33-year-old Ako Mohammad from Lincoln Road, Peterborough, was charged with murder. He appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on September 18. A post-mortem was conducted on Procter, but results were inconclusive pending further tests.
Four More Arrested, Investigation Ongoing
- On Sunday, September 22, four more men were taken into custody.
- A 23-year-old local man was arrested for murder suspicion and carrying a bladed weapon in public.
- The other three—including the Margate man—face suspicion of assisting an offender.
- All remain held in Staffordshire police custody.
Cambridgeshire Police are urging anyone with information to step forward as the probe continues. This case remains under active investigation.
